Southern Border Provinces Operations Center, DSI, joined forces with Anti-Corruption in Public Sector Area 9 Office and relevant agencies to inspect encroachment and destruction of lands and natural resources in areas of Songkhla Province

 

 

       On February 13, 2023, the Director of the Southern Border Provinces Operations Center of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), and its officials, joined forces with relevant agencies for field inspection of encroached and destroyed lands and natural resources in Songkhla Province.

       The Working Group to Organize Database Integration Project Against Corruption in Southern Border Province Areas, of the fiscal year 2023, had a meeting at meeting room of the Klongsai Subdistrict Administration Organization, Nathawi District, Songkhla Province, joined by relevant agencies in Songkhla provincial areas that is, the Office of Anti-Corruption in Public Sector Area 9, the Office of Songkhla Provincial Industry Office, the Provincial Office of Natural Resources and Environment Songkhla, the Songkhla Provincial Office of the Local Administration, the Songkhla Provincial Land Office, Nathawi District, Chana District, and Thepha District, the Thepha Subdistrict Administration Organization, the Sapanmaikaen Subdistrict Administration Organization, the Tamorsai Subdistrict Administration Organization, and the Chanong Subdistrict Administration Organization. The joint force of aforesaid agencies went for field inspection of encroached and destroyed land and natural resources in areas of Klongsai Subdistrict, Nathawi District, Thepha Subdistrict, Thepha District, Sapanmaikaen Subdistrict, and Tamorsai Subdistrict, and Chanong Subdistrict Chana District, Songkhla Province.

       The mentioned case could be an offence subject to the Land Code and the law on forests, which is in the scope of criminal offence according to the laws provided in the Annex attached to the Special Case Investigation Act, B.E. 2547 (2004), and additional amendments, and subject to the Notification of the Board of Special Case (No.8) B.E. 2565 (2022) Prescribing the Nature of Crime Regarded as Special Case under Section 21 Paragraph One (1) of the Special Case Investigation Act, B.E. 2547 (2004). Moreover, the aforesaid matter is also security threats that could cause an unrest in Southern Border Province Areas regarding the matter of corruption in public sector and problem of encroaching and destroying important natural resources and environment.
