On May 9th, 2023, at Learning Studio 1, 1st Floor, Thailand Institute of Justice (Public Organization) or TIJ, Police Major Suriya Singhakamol, Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), joined other executives in delivering an opening remark at the Regional Workshop on Investigative Interviewing. Also joining the DSI Director General were TIJ Executive Director Dr. Phiset Sa-ardyen, Ms. Julien Garsany from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Norwegian Ambassador to Thailand Ms. Astrid Emilie Helle, and Police Colonel Peerawut Parisnarun from the Royal Thai Police.
This workshop is co-organized by the Thailand Institute of Justice (Public Organization), the UNODC , and the Norwegian Center for Human Rights, with the aim of encouraging the exchange of knowledge on human rights-based interviewing methods for investigating crime among law enforcement experts in Southeast Asia and the Pacific. The Department of Special Investigation has organized training programs for its officials in human rights-based interviewing techniques, with continuous support from the Thailand Institute of Justice.
