Dr. Ratchada Thanadirek, Vice Minister attached to the Office of the Prime Minister, presided over the award ceremony at the Cattleya Room, Rama Gardens Hotel, Bangkok.
The Prime Minister Awards: Thailand Cybersecurity Excellence Awards for the year 2026 resulted from the DSI undergoing a cybersecurity assessment in accordance with the Cybersecurity Act, B.E. 2562 (2019), as well as related laws, policies, and standard frameworks.
The DSI's assessment results passed the "Excellent" level criteria, earning the department the BEST PERFORMANCE AWARDS in the Government Agency (Department/Ministry level) category. The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) served as the auditing and evaluating body for the operational performance. This reflects the DSI's potential in developing and expanding upon strong and sustainable cybersecurity standards regarding its systems and personnel. This achievement elevates the prevention and handling of cyber threats, builds confidence in the protection of critical government information, and drives the DSI toward robust and sustainable cybersecurity standards.
This award demonstrates the cooperation of all personnel who jointly adhere to information system usage guidelines and actively help prevent and secure the information system, which includes improving and developing security through the adoption of new technologies. However, having modern tools to protect cybersecurity is not sufficient on its own for overall security and data protection. The best cybersecurity prevention and protection occurs when agency personnel understand and cooperate in cyber threat surveillance. Examples include not setting easily guessable passwords, not using personal information as passwords, using ThaiD to log into the information system, not opening files sent by unknown individuals, and being cautious about opening personal emails on the agency's network to prevent RANSOMWare.
