Japanese delegation from National Police Agency visited DSI
On Tuesday, December 17, 2019, 2:30 p.m. at the DSI, the Director of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime Bureau Pol.Col.Akarapol Punyopashtambha welcomed Mr.Yusuke Kawahara (the Director of International Investigative Operations Division of the National Police Agency-NPA) and his team from Japan.
Both representatives discussed cooperation between the DSI and the NPA to investigate transnational crime in particular traffic in persons, narcotics and illegal labor cases. In this occasion, the DSI representative also informed the NPA delegation of the progress of investigation into the case of a Japanese tourist Miss Tomoko Kawashita murdered in Sukhothai Province in 2007. The NPA team planned to go to the crime scene on December 18 accompanied by the DSI’s officials from the Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime Bureau and the Security Crime Bureau.
