On May 29, 2026, the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ), alongside the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), University of Oslo and Office of the Attorney General held an opening ceremony for “E-Learning on Investigative Interviewing for Criminal Investigation in Thai Language” aiming to promote capacity building for justice personnel in investigative interviewing according to international standards.
Police Major Yutthana Praedam, Director-General of the Department of Special Investigations (DSI), assigned Ms. Sirinpat Getsuwan, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Special Case Development and Logistics, as a representative of DSI, who participated the aforementioned ceremony along with officials from DSI Academy, attending a lecture, sharing knowledge and studying the application of modern learning technologies to develop the capacity of investigative personnel.
Investigative Interviewing is an important process for seeking the truth and collecting evidence effectively, focusing on human rights respect, establishing the credibility of information and evidence, as well as conducting operations in alignment with academic principles and international standards, which can be effectively applied to the investigation of complex cases today.
DSI prioritizes the continuous development of its staff and acknowledges the value of the E-Learning platform in broadening access to learning for personnel at every level. This knowledge from this course can be applied to enhance the training programs of DSI, such as the Special Case Officer program and the Special Case Investigation program, to enhance the officials with comprehensive knowledge, practical skills, and readiness to deal with complex and transnational crimes.
