DSI attended the workshop on Enhancing a Victim-Centered Approach: Identification, Assistance, and Protection of Trafficked Victims in Asia-Pacific Region

 

 

       Pol.Col. Akarapol Punyopashtambha, the DSI’s Expert on Human Trafficking and Narcotics Crime, attended the workshop on Enhancing a Victim-Centered Approach: Identification, Assistance, and Protection of Trafficked Victims in Asia-Pacific Region organized by the Regional Support Office of the Bali Process- (RSO) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research Centre International de Formation des Autorites Leaders (UNITAR CIFAL) at the UNITAR CIFAL International Training Center, Jeju, South Korea, on November 19-26, 2017. The workshop’s purpose was to thoroughly discuss the existence of human trafficking problems and the obstacles in solving the problems for laying down a guideline befitting the protection of trafficked victims and the circumstances. The workshop encouraged and gave the officers mainly responsible for anti-human trafficking work the chances to increase their skills and exchange their idea and experience with counterparts from Asia-Pacific countries, namely, Myanmar, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Mongolia, People’s Republic of China, Philippines, Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand for generating an effective practice for efficiency in fighting against human trafficking and cooperatively responding to the regional problems.
