DSI and FBI Counterterrorism Division exchanges information for Terrorism Watch

On November 7, 2017, Mr. Ernst H. Weyand, Assistant Legal Attaché of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Bangkok, and Mr. Christopher Walton from FBI Counterterrorism Division in New York, USA, lectured and consulted the following issues with Bureau of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime’s officers:

          1) The operation methods of Hezbollah, one of the terrorism groups with complicated operation process, apart from ISIS and Al-Qaeda, which has been monitored by the US Government.

          2) The methods employed by the FBI to collect evidence and investigate by monitoring the Hezbollah‘s “Operatives”, which led to arresting the suspects and procuring important information for consecutively monitoring this group.

The FBI is willing to provide resources and exchange information and experience with the DSI in regard to the above mentioned issue via the FBI’s Office of Legal Attaché in Thailand. In case of incidents, the FBI is ready to dispatch its officers on request to jointly operate with Thai agencies.
