AFP Deputy Commissioner Operations visited DSI
On July 19, 2019, 1:30 p.m. at the DSI, Mr.Neil Gaughan, the Deputy Commissioner Operations of the Australian Federal Police-AFP paid a courtesy call on and discussed case operation and academic cooperation with Pol.Col.Paisit Wongmuang (the Director-General) and Pol.Col.Akarapol Punyopashtambha (the Director of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime Bureau).
The DSI has cooperated with the AFP for the fight against transnational crime since its establishment. In 2016, the DSI signed the Memorandum of Understanding to Counter Transnational Crime, and the Agreement to Establish a Taskforce for Combatting Narcotics and Transnational Crime (Taskforce STORM) with the AFP. The cooperation in exchanging intelligence and enforcing laws at regional level is fruitful for both agencies.
