DSI Welcomes INP Delegation to Enhance Cooperation and Knowledge Exchange on Transnational Crime


On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Meeting Room 1, 1st Floor, Department of Special Investigation (DSI) Building, Police Major Yutthana Praedam, Director General of the DSI, assigned Police Captain Wisanu Chimtrakool, Deputy Director General of the DSI, along with Police Major Siriwish Kasemsup, Director of the Bureau of Human Trafficking, Mr. Somroek Tangkharawakhun, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime (1) (Acting Director of the Bureau of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime), and Mr. Udomkaan Warotamasikkhadit, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime (2), to welcome Police Brigadier General Fauzi Bakti Mochji and a delegation of 41 high leadership course trainees from the Indonesian National Police Academy. The delegation was on a study visit to the DSI to learn about its authority, duties, and missions, especially those related to online scams, online gambling, and narcotics, as well as to exchange knowledge and experience in combating these types of crimes.

Police Captain Wisanu Chimtrakool welcomed the delegation for their interest in choosing the DSI as part of their study visit, which serves to strengthen relationships between law enforcement agencies of Thailand and Indonesia, and expressed gratitude for the cooperation that the Indonesian National Police (INP) has provided to the DSI.

During the visit, Mr. Udomkaan Warotamasikkhadit gave a presentation on the authority, duties, and structure of the DSI. He also covered the missions and significant cases of the Bureau of Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime, including its case cooperation with various countries, particularly cooperation from the INP in extraditing key suspects to the DSI. Subsequently, Police Major Siriwish Kasemsup presented on online scams related to human trafficking, noting that the Bureau of Human Trafficking has previously provided assistance to Indonesian victims of online scam who were deceived into committing crimes in the Thai-Myanmar border areas. The visiting delegation learned about online scam tactics, criminal groups, legal measures and prevention and suppression approaches, as well as the development of cooperation with international agencies to ensure legal proceedings from origin countries to destination countries.

Additionally, there were discussions on academic cooperation between the DSI Academy and the Indonesian National Police Academy, and the preparation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the DSI and the INP for the exchange of intelligence, best practices, and joint investigations. This initiative aims to systematically enhance cooperation and improve the efficiency in jointly addressing transnational crime issues in the future.

This study visit marks a significant step in strengthening the relationship between the DSI and the INP. It serves to benefit joint investigations and ensure justice, which is a crucial shared mission in maintaining peace and security in the region.
