DSI Visited Buriram Province to Search Khao Kradong Land Boundary of the State Railway of Thailand Which Was Created as per Court Order—Some Evidence Showed Issuance of Title Deed Certifications
On Thursday, August 21, 2025, Police Major Natapol Ditsayatham, Director of the Bureau of Natural Resources and Environment Crime, along with the inquiry team no. 97/2568, visited Lam Plai Mat Railway Subdivision in Lam Plai Mat District, Buriram Province, to coordinate and request information and evidence related to the Khao Kradong land belonging to the State Railway of Thailand or railway land. This information will be used to cross-reference with the information previously received from other related agencies—including Buriram Land Office, Damrongtham Center of Buriram Province, and Ministry of Finance.
Upon the inspection, the authorities discovered that the map jointly created by the State Railway of Thailand and Buriram Land Office, in accordance with the Administrative Court order, indicated the original area of 5,083 Rai. However, a new survey made in July 2024, revealed the actual land area to be 4,414 Rai. The inspection also revealed that a number of structures have been built over the public ways, which are being examined for proper permits. Additionally, suspicious transactions were discovered in many title deeds, including the 12 government agencies found to occupy the railway’s land, which will need a further inspection.
Police Major Natapol Ditsayatham, Director of the Bureau of Natural Resources and Environment Crime, noted that the original map was created in B.E. 2531 (1988), indicated a railway line and the railway quarry. Some of the title deeds for an area of 513 Rai, which had the boundaries certified by the railway officials, are in the area of the State Railway and still pending further inspection. Regarding structures built on the public ways, the responsibility to press charges against offenders in accordance with the law falls to local administrative agencies, such as district office or municipal office. According to the Land Office’s records from 1970 – 1996, the records show instances of both certification and non-certification by the State Railway of Thailand.
The information requires further analysis. The evidence obtained from the 3-day field visit will be submitted procedurally, and it is possible that the matter will be elevated to a special case.
