DSI and Australia's ACIC Join Forces to Elevate Intelligence Sharing and Tackle Transnational Crime

On July 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., Police Major Yutthana Praedam, Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), assigned Police Captain Wisanu Chimtragool, Deputy Director-General of the DSI, along with Police Captain Thinavudth Silapat, Director of the Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime Bureau, and relevant officials, to welcome Mr. Adam Meyer, Deputy Chief Executive Officer - Intelligence, and Mr. Hunter McGee, Liaison Officer, from the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC). The welcome took place on the occasion of their courtesy call and official discussion at the Reception Room, 2nd Floor, the Government Complex, Rajaburi Direkriddhi Building, to strengthen relations and drive bilateral cooperation in law enforcement and intelligence.

The discussion focused on crucial issues to enhance efficiency in the prevention and suppression of transnational crime, emphasizing the importance of sharing intelligence, large data sets, and financial trail information to effectively analyze transnational criminal networks and dismantle criminal organizations. The ACIC is pleased to support the exchange of knowledge, data analysis tools, and best practices in intelligence management with the DSI. In this regard, the ACIC delivered a high-priority target intelligence report for the DSI to use as a shared database in threat analysis, and provided an annual situation assessment report (Public Report) to serve as a guideline for raising public awareness.

Both sides agreed to expedite and develop the drafting of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the DSI and the ACIC to serve as an official operational framework for intelligence sharing and coordination in major cases. They also expressed their commitment to tangibly advancing their joint missions to ensure continued safety and security for the region.
