DSI and HSI increase cooperation against cybercrime
On Wednesday, December 9, 2020, 10:00 a.m. at the Homeland Security Investigations’ Office in Bangkok, Pol.Col.Akarapol Punyopashtamha (a Deputy Director-General of the DSI), accompanied by Pol.Lt.Col.Wichai Suwanprasert (the Director of Technology and Cyber Crime Bureau) and his officials, met with Mr.Eric McLoughlin (the HSI Bangkok Regional Attaché) to discuss concrete cooperation against cybercrime and social media crime between the DSI and the HSI in terms of investigation and expertise development. The HSI agreed to support the DSI with courses of training of trainers, in 2021, which will equip officials of the DSI with necessary knowledge and skill required for successful investigation into new and emerging crime utilizing the dark web and crypto currency.
