BANGKOK, January 28 – In a major move to modernize Thailand’s approach to complex crime, Minister of Justice Police Lieutenant General Ruttaphol Naowarat presided over the opening of “DSI Connect 2026,” a strategic workshop aimed at integrating information exchange and enhancing the suppression of special crimes, at 9:00 AM at the Centara Life Government Complex Hotel & Convention Centre, Chaeng Watthana.

Upon arrival, the Minister was welcomed by the Department of Special Investigation’s (DSI) executive leadership team, led by DSI Director-General Police Major Yutthana Praedam. He was joined by Deputy Director-Generals Police Captain Wisanu Chimtrakool, Police Lieutenant Colonel Anurak Rojanunirunkit, Police Major Jatupol Bongkochmas, and Police Captain Surawoot Rangsai, alongside other senior executives and officials.

The "DSI Connect 2026" initiative was established to forge a stronger, more integrated workflow between the DSI and its network of allies. The department highlighted the event as a crucial step in aligning crime prevention strategies with a rapidly evolving global context, specifically regarding shifts in technology, economy, society, and national security. Also emphasized is the fact that the DSI can no longer operate in isolation. Effective enforcement now requires a collaborative "cooperation network" that bridges knowledge, legal authority, and data across all sectors. Designed as a "central platform for cooperation," DSI Connect 2026 aims to link government agencies, the private sector, and civil society to ensure operations are systematic, transparent, and sustainable.

Under the theme “DSI Connect 2026: Connecting Intelligence, Empowering Justice,” the event featured seminars on the future direction of integrated cooperation and workshops focused on data exchange protocols. The venue also hosted an exhibition showcasing successful special case operations resulting from past collaborations between the DSI and its partners. The event saw robust participation, with 1,024 representatives from 181 agencies across the public, private, and civil sectors in attendance.
