DSI receives the petition accusing the National Housing Authority’s Executive Committee for interfering in the joint venture of the 2.4 billion baht Public Housing Project, Samut Prakarn Province

 

 

       On January 20, 2022, at the Department of Special Investigation, Chaengwattana Road, the Director-General Mr. Traiyarith Temahivong assigned the Director of Special Case Mangement Bureau and the Deputy-Spokesperson Pol.Maj. Woranan Srilam to receive a complaint letter from the Director of Pengprakay Construction Company Limited, Mr. Prasit Dennapalai and his lawyer Mr. Kampon Sukkhirin, accusing the National Housing Authority’s Executive Committee and the National Housing Authority of corruption and exploitation in the Public Housing Project, Samut Prakarn Province (Thepharak 4). From the complaint, the National Housing Authority and the petitioner are the joint venture parties of the Public Housing Project Thepharak 4, Samut Prakarn Province. The National Housing Authority was accused of its dishonest management, coercing the petitioner into accepting a company to the project, where the National Housing Authority acts as the mastermind, and receiving money for the company, removal of the project’s location from the petitioner’s lands to other’s lands. From the lawsuit filed by petitioner, the Civil Court, finally, rendered its judgement removing the aforesaid company from the party of the contract. Moreover, the triple reduction of the project’s housing units against the original contract was executed by the National Housing Authority. This is unfair and it cause damage to the petitioner. The aforesaid housing project is worth more than 2.4 billion baht. The aforesaid case relates to the government budget and the high value of joint venture between the public and private sectors, which it may relate to the Public-Private Partnership Act, B.E.2562 (2019) that determined the code of practices, and other related laws. The DSI will further inspect for compliance with laws.
