DSI searched Condominium housing alleged offender in Forex 3D Case

On Friday, January 13, 2023, at 20.30 hrs., Director General of the DSI, Mr. Triyarith Temahivong, assigned Director of Illegal Financial Business Bureau and Head of Investigation Team for Special Case No. 273/2565, Pol.Capt. Wisanu Chimtrakool, Head of Illegal Financial Business Division 3, Maj. Akarin Latthasaksiri, and the Special Case Investigation Team to conduct joint operations with Central Institute of Forensic Science Officers to serve a search warrant of Taling Chan Provincial Court on a luxury Condominium Unit along Chao Phraya River in Bang Phlat Subdistrict, Bang Phlat District, Bangkok, to locate and arrest the alleged offender, Mr. Daryl Yonggyui Cai, according to the arrest warrant of the Criminal Court with regard to Special Case No. 273/2565.

This is in response to the suggestion of the public prosecutor to prosecute 16 people involved in the Special Case No. 153/2562 and the Special Case No. 60/2565 for the case of Forex-3D, regarding the offence on borrowings which are regarded as public cheating and fraud, mutual cheating and entering false information into computer system, which may cause damage to the public. The Special Case Investigation Team had previously requested the court to issue the arrest warrant of Mr. Daryl Yonggyui Cai but, from the investigation, Mr. Daryl Yonggyui Cai ran away and stayed in the aforesaid Condominium with his girlfriend. This leads to the request for searching warrant to arrest the alleged offender. As a result of the search, the alleged offender and his girlfriend were not found in the Condominium Unit but there was evidence affirming that the alleged offender and his girlfriend had actually stayed at the Condominium. The genetic materials left on the appliances which were believed to be the alleged offender’s and relevant person’s were collected to be examined by forensic analysts. The security guard of the condominium also gave information about seeing a person whose appearance looked similar to the alleged offender’s girlfriend run away with another person before the search by the officers took place. Therefore, the Special Case Investigation Team will put all efforts to bring the alleged offender to justice.

The Department of Special Investigation then wishes to further inform the public that assisting and offering a person with an arrest warrant a place to stay may be an offence according to the law and that it can be punishable by imprisonment. Thus, if any person has a clue leading to the culprit, please inform the DSI by directly contacting the Director of Illegal Financial Business Bureau in order to arrest and prosecute the offender.
