August 8, 2025, Police Major Yuttana Praedam, Director-General of the
Department of Special Investigation (DSI), assigned Police Captain Wisanu
Chimtrakool, Deputy Director-General of the DSI, to preside over the closing
ceremony and award certificates to the graduates of the "Countering
Transnational Organized Crime - Trafficking in Persons 201 (CTOC-TIP 201)"
training program, Class 2. The program, organized by the Center of Excellence
for Counter Trafficking in Persons, was held from August 4 - 8, 2025, at the TK
Palace Hotel & Convention in Bangkok.
The
training featured lectures, discussions, and practical exercises led by
distinguished speakers from both Thailand and abroad. The 44 participants
included 8 from the Department of Special Investigation, 1 from the Office of
the Attorney General, 9 from the Royal Thai Police, 4 from the Royal Thai Navy,
2 from the Anti-Money Laundering Office, 9 from the Ministry of Social
Development and Human Security, 2 from the Department of Employment, 2 from the
Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, 1 from the Rights and Liberties
Protection Department, and 6 from civil society or non-governmental
organizations (NGOs).
This
advanced course on preventing and suppressing human trafficking aimed to
develop and exchange expertise in all dimensions, enhancing the capabilities of
officials in the justice system and related sectors. The training focused on
responding to new dimensions of human trafficking that utilize technology,
emphasizing in-depth training, case study analysis, and practical exercises. It
also served to build strong relationships and promote inter-agency cooperation,
which will be beneficial for systematic and highly effective integrated work.
