DSI Hosts ilateral Meeting on International Cooperation in the Investigation of Human Trafficking Cases between the Department of Special Investigation and the Myanmar Police Force

From 9 to 11 June 2026, Police Lieutenant General Rutthaphon Naowarat, Minister of Justice, assigned the Department of Special Investigation to host and represent Thailand in organizing the Bilateral Meeting on International Cooperation in the Investigation of Human Trafficking Cases between the Department of Special Investigation and the Myanmar Police Force for 2026.

Under the directives of Police Major Yutthana Praedam, Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation, and Police Major Jatupol Bongkochmas, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation, Police Major Siriwich Kasemsap, Director of the Human Trafficking Bureau; Police Major Arit Tatsapan, Special Case Expert; and a delegation of officials from the Human Trafficking Bureau were assigned to welcome Police Brigadier General Zaw San, Deputy Secretary-General of the Central Body for Suppression of Trafficking in Persons and Commander of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division. He was accompanied by a delegation from the Myanmar Police Force, comprising representatives from the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Command, the Ministry of Defence, the Immigration Department, and the Department of Rehabilitation. The meeting was organized by the Department of Special Investigation in Pattaya City, Chonburi Province.

The meeting marked the 25th consecutive bilateral cooperation meeting between the two agencies and aimed to promote cooperation in the prevention and suppression of human trafficking. It focused on the exchange of information, coordination in case cooperation, capacity building for joint operations, and the development of inter-agency cooperation based on the principle of partnership, with a view to making such cooperation more comprehensive, concrete, and effective.
