On Monday, April 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, assigned Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, to chair the press conference announcing the results of the suppression of intellectual property violations for the first half (October 2025 - March 2026) of the 2026 fiscal year. The event was attended by Mrs. Suphajee Suthumpun, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, in her capacity as Chair of the National Intellectual Property Policy Committee (NIPPC), along with Police Captain Wisanu Chimtragool, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation, and representatives from the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Finance, and the Royal Thai Police. Also present at the Customs Department for the briefing were representatives from public sector network agencies, private sector rights owners, and embassies of Thailand's trading partners, such as the United States, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, among others.

Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, revealed that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, has prioritized addressing this issue systematically. The Prime Minister has issued directives instructing relevant agencies to urgently elevate and enforce strict measures for the prevention and suppression of intellectual property violations to build confidence in the country's trade and investment. Under these directives, all sectors—including the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Justice, and the Royal Thai Police—have integrated their efforts to suppress intellectual property violations in both commercial areas and online channels. Operations during the first half of the 2026 fiscal year (October 2025 - March 2026) resulted in the arrest and prosecution of 332 intellectual property violation cases and the seizure of over 1.3 million items, representing economic damages reaching 2.3 billion baht.
