DSI Leads Joint Raid on Counterfeit Storage at Major Bangkok Department Store, Seizing Over 20 Million Baht in Fake Goods

BANGKOK, THAILAND — On Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM, the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) executed a major operation targeting intellectual property violations. Under the directive of Police Major Yutthana Praedam, DSI Director-General, and Police Captain Wisanu Chimtragool, DSI Deputy Director-General, a joint task force was mobilized under the command of Police Captain Polson Terdsanguan, Director of the Intellectual Property Crime Bureau.

Officers from the Intellectual Property Crime Bureau and the Special Operations Bureau executed 17 search warrants issued by the Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court. The operation targeted storage facilities for counterfeit goods concealed within a prominent department store in Bangkok. Officials from the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) were also present to observe the raid.

During the search, authorities discovered and seized a massive quantity of counterfeit clothing, bags, and other merchandise. The confiscated items unlawfully bore the trademarks of luxury and sportswear brands, including Christian Dior, Nike, Adidas, Gucci, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton. The total estimated damage value of the seized goods is approximately 20 million baht. The DSI will proceed with further investigations and legal action under the Special Case Investigation Act, B.E. 2547 (2004).

The DSI remains steadfast in its commitment to rigorously preventing and suppressing intellectual property violations. These enforcement efforts are crucial for bolstering the national economy, protecting the public from the potential hazards of using substandard counterfeit products, and elevating Thailand’s global standing in intellectual property protection. Because intellectual property infringement not only violates the rights of legitimate owners but also inflicts significant damage on the country's economic system, the DSI urges the public to remain vigilant. Citizens who witness or have information regarding intellectual property violations are encouraged to report tips directly to the DSI by calling the nationwide toll-free hotline at 1202.
