DSI hastened to track proceeds under its Operation Tub-Hua-Rot-Chak in Bangkok, Nakhon Pathom and Petchaburi

 

 

       Pol.Lt.Col.Korrawat Panprapakorn (the Director-General) assigned his deputy Pol.Lt.Col.Somboon Sarasith to order Mr.Rawee Acksornsiri (the Head of the Center Against Criminal Proceeds Laundering) and his special case inquiry official team to urgently proceed against property of the offender for compensating the Railway Club Savings Cooperative and its members as the injured persons encountering direct impacts. In this regard, the special case inquiry official team led by Mr.Thawatchai Rattanapreechachai (a Deputy Head of the Center Against Criminal Proceeds Laundering) hastened to go to the area ,on July 19-22, 2021, for investigating and further tracking property in the areas of Bangkok, Nakhon Pathom Province, and Kaeng Krachan District in Phetchaburi Province owned by the group of former executives of the Railway Club Savings Cooperative and others, the case of embezzlement of funds from the Railway Club Savings Cooperative and the transfer, receipt of transfer, or the converting of corrupted money and proceeds, or concealing the origin of that property, concealing or disguising the true nature of the acquisition, source, location, distribution, transfer, acquisition of rights in the property connected to crime commission regarded as the offence of money laundering for further seizure/forfeiture of the said property.

 

 

       In the said case, the special case inquiry official team uncovered the change and transfer of some property acquired from crime. Therefore, it is necessary to quickly inspect the property in order to suspend, deter, track, and return the said property to the injured persons as soon as possible in response to the policy of the government and Minister of Justice, Mr.Somsak Thepsutin assigning the DSI to accelerate its action against the property of the offenders for rapidity, continuity and fairness to all parties and for the return of money to the Railway Club Savings Cooperative as the injured persons including its over 6,000 members and 15 cooperative partners. The DSI will integrate its working with the Anti-Money Laundering Office for efficiency in law enforcement, public confidence creation, and achievements of implementation under the Anti-Money Laundering Act, B.E. 2542 and the Special Investigation Act, B.E. 2547.
